Fastemp Manufacturing Process
The Section 001 group became experts in the use of the Fastemp edging, silkscreening, and tempering.
Next the edging process begins. Fastemp has three slightly different CNC machines that do about the same thing. Once again water is used during the edging to prevent cracking.
At this point in the process an ink with glass in it is put onto the glass. It is a similar process to other silk screening methods. The design becomes permant in the glass after the tempering process is completed.
The tempering process is the final step the glass goes through at Fastemp. Tempering heats the glass up making it five times stronger. When tempered glass is broken it breaks into a lot of smaller pieces rather than untempered large shards.
