Fastemp Glass Co. is a flat glass fabrication business founded in 1981 in Newport, Kentucky, just across the river from Cincinnati.

Fastemp works exclusively with sheet glass, stocking more than 30 different types and sizes of glass, from clear to colored and patterned. They have the capability to provide tempered glass from 1/8 inch to 3/4 inch thick.

Fastemp offers quite a few services to its clients. After ordering anywhere from 1/8” to ¾” glass to the correct color specifications, they will cut glass in any shape or size the client desires. They will then (depending on the client’s price range) either do a machined high cost variable rounded smooth edge or a low cost hand done edging to remove sharpness. Next, if necessary, the Fastemp workers will add internal cutouts using their specialized CNC machine. If a client will be inserting hardware through the glass, Fastemp will use their diamond embedded bits to drill holes. If a client wants to add any logos or other designs on the glass, Fastemp can add screen-print with glass particle impregnated ink which will fuse to the glass in later processes. Finally after all processes are complete, Fastemp will put the cut sheets through their tempering oven which will slowly heat up and quickly cool the glass. This process makes the glass shatter more fully which makes the glass safer upon impaction.
